Shamelessly Long Survey

I am feeling less ranty today. Less confused, though I still have the nagging feeling pressing upon me to RESOLVE MY FEELINGS before I fall into a bizarre, confusing mid-life crisis and wonder where my adolescent passion went.

But oh well. Things will resolve themselves. I will check back later if I fall any farther into muddled confusion.
Now for a shamelessly long and time-consuming survey.   I expect nobody to read it, because it's dull and long and involves my somewhat sprawled music taste.

Here's how it works:
1.) Put your music player on shuffle
2.) Press forward for each question.
3.) Use the song title as the answer to the question.

01.) How am I feeling today?
Franklin - Paramore. It doesn't quite fit perfectly, but taking this quiz means selective hearing. So I guess this part fits.
"Could you remind me of a time when we were so alive?/Do you remember that?"
And not really the part about "everything has changed," that's not true.

02.) Where will I get married?
Golden Loom - Bob Dylan.
"I see the trembling lion with the lotus flower tail
And then I kiss your lips as I lift your veil.
But you're gone and then all I seem to recall is the smell of perfume"
Obviously one of us will die on that dusky autumn day because of a poisonous kiss.

03.) What is my best friend's theme song?
Talk - Coldplay. Considering that she is tight-lipped and reluctant to talk at all, this result is quite unexpected.

04.) What is/was highschool like?
Sacred Darling - Gogol Bordello. Amusing to think about.
"So darling, let us discuss our tactics/I will be mad, and you will be posessed
That is the only way to fight this world/That is the only times that we are at our best"

05.) What is the best thing about me?
Follow You Down - Gin Blossoms. I'm not sure what this means. Perhaps that I'm loyal to fucked-up people.
"So what the hell now, we've already been forever damned
Anywhere you go I'll follow you down"

06.) How is today going to be?
All We Have is Now - The Flaming Lips. Ignoring the central part of the song about broken relationships, I'm going to interpret this in a jolly, carpe-diem sort of way. I seized the day, because all we have is now!

07.) What is in store for this week?
Velvet Guitar - Alejandro Escovedo. I'm getting a velvet guitar? Oh fuck yes!
"My hands are turning numb/But I still wanna strum my velvet guitar/I don't care how long"
Oh, nevermind. This week is going to be full of exhausting masturbation, of course. So much so that hands will grow weak and numb from the great sexual effort.

08.) What song describes my parents?
Disco Inferno - Bee Gees. This is utterly fucking hilarious to think about--parents partying on top of a roof, and burning, baby, burning!

09.) How is my life going?
Oh embarrassing philosophizing song. Side - Travis. Appropriately sings about life, however.
"There is no wrong, there is no right
The circle only has one side"

10.) What song will they play at my funeral?
(desperately hoping it's another disco party song before I click next.)
Disappointment! I was hoping for something like, Take Off Your Clothes - Morningwood. But instead I ended up with Mayfly - Belle and Sebastian.
This'd be a strange song to play at my funeral, considering all of their songs involve complex emotions that could only occuring while you're young and alive.

11.) How does the world seem to me?
Cocaine Blues - Bob Dylan. A terrific song to end up with on this number. And yes, that's the second Dylan song listed here.

12.) What do my friends really think of me?
My Angel Rocks Back and Forth - Four Tet. This is an instrumental song with no lyrics. It reminds me of one of the songs on The Sims.

13) Do people secretly like me?
Oh crap, I got distracted and now my list skipped forth a few songs. I'm going to see if I can trek back.
Okay. Paper Dress - Toadies. An abstract song, though creepy (as all their songs are). Thus only people who appreciate creepy bands like the Toadies would like me.

14.) How can I make myself happy?
My Wandering Days Are Over - Belle & Sebastian.
This song is about being discontent in a spouse-y life. Thus I can make myself happy by not playing songs for businessmen on the piano, getting married, and having kids. I will make a note to myself never to do any of these things, none of which I planned to do anyway.
And I can listen to the "spooky witch in a sexy dress" telling me how things should be.

15.) What should I do with my life?
(greatly anticipating this answer as some divine sign from the skies)
Jetsetter - Morningwood. God, so I should travel around to fucking random cities, get hit on, and then write back to my cheating dearest expressing my urban discontent?

17.) What is some good advice?
Race for the Prize - The Flaming Lips. If you are struggling for the good of all mankind, go for it. Even if you die. How idealistically FlamingLips-esque.

18.) What do I think my current theme song is?
I'll Be - Goo Goo Dolls. Okay, I admit it. The Goo Goo Dolls are a guilty PMS pleasure. Let's get off this subject, shall we? Heh :)

19.) What does everyone else think my current theme song is?
Eyes Wide Open - Goo Goo Dolls. Another song of theirs. What poor shuffle.
"I wanna take control, wanna make it all mine
At least I could kick it all down/I wanna' kick it all down
Eyes wide open, I can't see/Eyes wide open, what you mean"
Well that's nice of y'all. I'm a close-minded, overprivileged, power-hungry thing. Cool.

20.) What type of men/women do you like?:
Where Is My Mind - Pixies.
Men who are a little messed-up in the head, apparently, and greatly enjoy testosterone brimming films such as "Fight Club," as well as that film's soundtrack.

21.) Will you get married?:
Gah I left and will have to trek back again.
Like Dylan in the Movies - Belle & Sebastian. 3rd song from them. Apparently I will run away from all of the men in pursuit of me, and simply turn off the lights in my room and go to bed. But some distant narrating person in my life won't marry me, though will "love me over," according to the song.

22.) What should I do with my love life?
Don't Think Twice It's Alright - Bob Dylan.
"You just kinda wasted my precious time
But don't think twice, it's all right"
If things go wrong, don't agonize over them. They simply happen. And some part of me also wants to optimistically say--if things go right, don't agonize over them.

23.) Where will you live?
Subterranean Homesick Blues - Bob Dylan. Wow, poor shuffle indeed. The song is a little stream-of-consciousness type, so I'll quote here.
"I'm on the pavement/Thinking about the government"
I'll be homeless and crazy, ranting about the evils of capitalist democracy.

24.) Words to live by?
Ahh another! Iris - Goo Goo Dolls.
This song is lyrically quite poor (emotions that don't quite meld together, cliches). So I suppose I'll just take the last line of the song. I am to live by the line "I just want you to know who I am." And I suppose I already do try to be sincere and all that, so what a useless end to the survey.

The things I do to pass the time.
